Learning how to write in the centuries old flowing script of calligraphy is at the tips of your fingertips with this course.
If you are looking to master the elegant styles of calligraphy, and improve your handwriting as an added bonus, this course is for you. Kayleigh has been practicing the art of traditional calligraphy since childhood, and she is eager to share her skills in order to preserve this nearly lost art.
You will be able to watch her hands through a live camera as you follow along, learning the basics of ink art and practicing each stroke of the pen together. You will learn to write your name in calligraphy, embellish the first letter, and draw designs and illustrations.
This course is designed to educate aspiring lettering artists to create beautiful lettering and illustrations in pen and ink, and will include the following topics:
What You Will Learn
- Choosing a nib/pen – styles, products available, and DIY pens
- Choosing ink – types available, characteristics of ink
- Choosing a support – parchment/vellum/paper, the pros and cons of each
- Line practice – starting simple with basic lines
- Letter practice – writing your name
- Drawing tips – adding embellishments and illustrations

A modern calligraphy marker. Several sheets of paper or parchment (either will do for learning).
